New in the Maker Shed: Panavise Jr.

Staying on the tool topic....i need a vise.  Not a traditional vise but something more flexible.  Something like this.  Take a look.

Panavise Jr.

The Panavise Jr, now in the Maker Shed, is the perfect workbench companion. The grooved jaws allow it to easily hold circuit boards, jewelry, models, rotary tools, pencil torches, soldering irons, or anything else you can think of. The single turn adjustment knob allows you to easily position the Panavise head anywhere you need it. Check out the Shed for other Panavise models as well.

Tool Dots: Adhesive-backed rare-earth magnets for tool organization

This seems like something I can completely get behind.  I am not a fan of a peg board but I am a fan of this.  The video in the article shows how the dots can hold different kinds of items.  I pulled this other video about installing them from the maker's website.

Jeff sez, 'We'd put tools into the tool drawer but they'd never come out. Other tool storage systems didn't suit us, so we created the Tool Dot. A tiny, powerful, magnetic tool holder that you stick to walls and other vertical surfaces to store tools in any arrangement you want.'

I do a similar thing -- overlay little rare-earth magnets with Sugru and stick 'em to the wall. It's lumpier, but more colorful. Chacun son gout!
